Hi, my name is Austin Dixon and I am the primary contributor to Hunt The Front. I am currently working on my Master’s degree in Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. My primary research as a Master’s student involves using the Blue Waters supercomputer to perform high-resolution simulations of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology from the University of Oklahoma in 2017. I have been deer hunting since I was 7 years old and was mostly a rifle hunter for many years but have more recently become primarily a bowhunter. I am originally from Oklahoma and grew up doing most of my hunting there, but I bowhunt lots of public land in southern Wisconsin now that I live here.

When I am not hunting I love spending time with my fiance (who often hunts with me), storm chasing, playing golf, playing guitar, fishing, photography, just to name a few.

I am very passionate about both weather and deer hunting and I love sharing my passions with others. I hope to achieve that with this site and hopefully provide something useful to you. Thank you for visiting Hunt The Front!

If you would like to see more about my severe weather research you can click here or you can also watch this video titled Inside a Supertwister.

Good luck.
